New Delhi, Sep 04, 2023: A petition was submitted to a Bihar court on Monday, targeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and his son, Udayanidhi Stalin, over Udayanidhi’s contentious remarks about Sanatan Dharma.
Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, based in Muzaffarpur, lodged the petition before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Pankaj Kumar Lal, alleging that the comments had offended Hindu sentiments.
Sudhir Kumar Ojha, known for his petitions against prominent politicians and celebrities, has urged the court to prosecute both the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and his son, who is also a cabinet minister, under sections of the Indian Penal Code. The case is scheduled for a hearing on September 14.
Udhayanidhi Stalin, the DMK youth wing secretary and Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare Minister, stirred controversy on Saturday when he claimed that Sanatan Dharma opposes equality and social justice. He likened it to diseases like coronavirus, malaria, dengue virus-induced fever, and mosquitoes.
These remarks triggered strong reactions from the BJP nationwide. Some leaders accused Udhayanidhi of inciting genocide, while others demanded treason charges be brought against him.
Udhayanidhi Stalin defended his statements, arguing that his speech aimed to highlight social issues.
