Country’s NH construction pace slows from April-September

New Delhi (14/10/2022): The pace of building the national highway in the country has halved down in the first 6 months of the year.

The speed has come down from 37 kms per day in 2021 to 19.44 kms in 2022. The pace of highway construction was at a speed of 28.64 kms in 2021-22, amid the pandemic disruptions.

In th monthly summary in September 2022 the Minister of Road Transport and Highways said that the ministry has constructed 3599kms of national highways till September 2022-23 as compared to 3824 kms upto September 2021-22.

The capital of the country has set a target of constructing 12000 kms of national highways before the end of the fiscal year 2023.

The National Highways Authority of India and National Highways and Infrastructure Development ltd are responsible for the construction of the national highways.
