New Delhi, 4 October 2022: The tender for the upcoming underground tunnel between the impending new parliament and the Vice President enclave has been invited by CPWD to begin construction work on the same.

The project is roughly estimated at Rs 21 crores.

According to the officials, the construction must be finished in four months after work begins and that the deadline for submitting bids is on October 15.

The tunnel that will link the VP enclave to the new Parliament building has officially been given green light by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD). It is also reported that the tunnel will be 6.20 meters wide and 185 meters long. It has a footprint of 1147 square meters.

Additionally, another tunnel will soon be constructed connecting the Prime Minister’s mansion to the imagined executive enclave. These tunnels are anticipated to make it easier for VIPs to enter the legislative building.

They will only be utilized by those who have been given special permission and will be single-lane transit. The transportation via the tunnel will be provided by golf cart-like vehicles.

Before submitting their bids, bidders were urged by CPWD officials to visit the site, look around, and make sure they were satisfied.

The government added that those who win the bid must finish the project under stringent deadlines and to the greatest levels of craftsmanship and quality. Due of security concerns, the developers will also be needed to set up a labor schedule.
