India, October 29, 2022: On Thursday, BCCI announced its landmark decision to ensure equal pay got men and women cricketers. As per reports, women cricketers will now receive Rs. 15 lakh per test, Rs. 6 lakh per ODI, and Rs. 3 lakh per T20I.
Former cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and VVS Laxman have celebrated the decision. Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Women’s cricket team, referred to the historic decision as a red letter day. “Truly a red letter day for Women’s Cricket in India with pay parity announced for women and men,” Kaur stated.
Bollywood stars including Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, and Anushka Sharma have also welcomed the board’s decision.
