Telangana, Dec 19, 2022: Congress has suffered a major setback in Telangana as 12 members have suddenly resigned from the newly-formed Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC). The news came days following the  constitution of the political affairs committee and the executive committee by All India Congress Committee (AICC).

The new development shed light on the infighting between the senior and new members of the grand old party in the state. The leader who resigned on Sunday had joined the party after quitting the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) almost five years ago.

The resignations were handed to the AICC a day after senior party leaders, including N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka, raised their objections against party posts given to “migrants” over loyalists. They further kicked off a “save Congress campaign”.

The leaders who resigned, include Vijayaramana Rao, MLA Vajresh Yadav, Seethakk, vice-president Kavvampalli SatyanarayanaPradesh Executive Committee (PEC) member Vem Narender Reddy, Dommati Sambaiah and Subhash Reddy. Also, the senior party leaders in the state called themselves “originals” and skipped the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ preparatory meeting. TPCC president A Revanth Reddy expressed hope that the matter would be resolved soon.
