Cyrus Mistry death: Maha Dy CM Fadnavis calls for detailed investigation into car accident

Maharashtra, Sept 5th,2022: Former Chairman of Tata Group, Cyrus Mistry, 54, died in a car accident on Sunday in Palghar district, while returning to Mumbai from Ahmedabad.

Mistry’s death comes as a huge loss for the world of economy and commerce. According to police officials, three other people were traveling with Mistry in his Mercedes, one of whom died on the spot and the other two have been admitted to a hospital.

The businessman belonged to one of the world’s wealthiest families and became the Chairman of Tata Sons in 2012. Four years later he was removed from his post in a boardroom coup led by Tata Trust.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday called for a detailed probe into the fatal car crash that led to Mistry’s untimely death.

He asked the state police to conduct a detailed investigation into the accident.
Expressing shock and grief at the news, Fadnavis directed a detailed probe into the road mishap.

“Spoke to DGP and instructed for detailed investigations,” Fadnavis wrote in a tweet.

Several leaders expressed their grief and offered condolences including Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Eknath Shinde, Nitin Gadkari, and Smriti Irani.
