Dalits threaten to stir country wide protests if justice not served to Saharanpur victims

NEW DELHI : Castigating the authorities for allegedly providing cover to perpetrators of Saharanpur incidents, Dalits today staged a protest at Jantar Mantar. “We want justice for the victims of Saharanpur and all those Dalits who have been at the receiving end of atrocities all over country,” a protestor said.

“If our demand for justice is not served we will start a country wide Jail bharo andholan,” they said

There has been constant violence against Dalits in the country. “The culprits have been brandishing the swords and committing atrocities against us. Scores of Dalit homes were burnt in recent incident and the culprits are not brought to book,” another protestor said.
