New Delhi, 29 June 2022: At the 23rd Handicrafts Export Award Presentation Function, Darshana Jardosh, the Minister of State for Textiles and Railways, praised the EPCH for organizing the awards after the past two years due to the Covid – 19 pandemic.

“Acknowledging the exporters for their hard work and dedication to their occupation encourages them and boosts their self-confidence,” she said.

Mrs. Jardosh talked about several artisans and their products going unnoticed and invalidated across the nation and encouraged the use of local handicraft and handloom products in one’s daily life so that more local artisans can be recognized for their art and talent.

“To get the assistance of exporters to help the country grow, especially when Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is promoting his vision of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in the nation,” Mrs. Jardosh said. She requested the exporters to carry on our Prime Minister’s vision and work for a better future for India.

Talking about her experience of visiting the exhibition, she stated, “I have observed that the EPCH organizes the best exhibitions, even in the time of the COVID pandemic people participated enthusiastically.” What delighted me the most about the EPCH exhibition was that they had created a space to promote local products and artisans, she said.

She also talked about the underprivileged people who with more training and guidance can make even better handicraft products. “I urge the exporters present here tonight to please take note of such artisans around you and help them grow,” she concluded.
