Gurugram (27 August 2023): A one of its kind Financial literacy event was organized in DAV Public School, Gurugram sec 49, which was attended by large number of eminent speakers , parents and students .
In a world where financial decisions shape destinies, this was an attempt by the DAv School Management to empower parents , teachers and students with the insights needed to navigate the complex financial landscape. Some of the key speakers for the event included Varun Malhotra , Coach Deepak Bajaj Jagmohan Singh, Rakesh Sharma and Sunil Tripathi, among others.
During the day long event, financial experts shared insights on smart money decisions and also talked about curated FINLIT books, which help in nurturing financial literacy.
The event also included getting familiar with roles and services of financial entities such as banks, insurance, mutual funds, NSE, BSE, SEBI, among others.
While talking to Ten News Nisha Peshin, Director (Academic) DAV groups of Schools, said, “Such event are very essential in present time. It’s not only essential for the students but for every individual including parents and teachers to be financially literate. And this concept of financial literacy is not limited to just knowing or understanding how a FD works or Cheque is signed but also having and maintaining financial goals and being a financially aware citizen.”
Sharing the experience of attendees and how has been the feedback from the event, she said, “There was good response from parents and I’m sure the learnings from this event will be used throughout life and help us make important decisions. Also for students, just having a goal to become doctor or engineer is not enough but whatever profession they choose, they must understand the basics of managing their finances and being financially secure”.
Principal Charu Mani also felt that it were event such as these that give an edge to students and the community belonging to the DAV brand and helps them stand out. “People choose DAV Public School because they feel their children get best of the education. With such high hopes, it become our mission that we give such education that the child should be able to do very good in life. Thousand of years ago our rishi muni also wrote that we should have a habit of saving. And even according to current economist, it is important that we have an habit to save. We should not just run after the money but we should know how to spend money properly and judiciously. It is a pleasure for us that 22 renowned speakers and 13 banks participated in this event. ”
