DCW Chief Swati Maliwal moves to Rajghat for Indefinite Hunger Strike

New Delhi(04/12/2019): The Chairperson of Delhi Women’s Commission, Swati Maliwal, who was sitting on a fast unto death at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, is now at Rajghat, continuing her Hunger Strike. A large number of policemen arrived at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday evening to shift her from Jantar Mantar to Rajghat.

After much delay, the police force was withdrawn at around 8:30 pm and Swati Maliwal agreed to continue her fast from Jantar Mantar to Rajghat.

On the other hand, before going on hunger strike on Tuesday morning, Swati Maliwal wrote on social media that the police is not giving approval for the demonstration at Jantar-Mantar, and in response, Police said that they have orders from above not to let them sit on hunger strike.

Swati also wrote that she is not a criminal, it is unfortunate that the Delhi Police is not cooperating but no matter what happens, ‘I won’t step back’, she added.
