New Delhi (12/01/2020): The movement of vehicles from Sarita Vihar to Kalindi Kunj in Delhi to NOIDA has been closed for a month now, amidst violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, which is causing huge problems, loses and inconveniences for people living and working in South Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Faridabad.
Now people angry by this historic blockage of road have started demonstrations at Sarita Vihar – Mathura road to open these 13 A closed road.
Delhi Traffic Police in view of the violence against the citizenship law in Jamia Nagar area, has been tweeting, “Traffic has been stopped on road number 13A between Sarita Vihar to Kalindi Kunj. The commuters coming from Noida to Delhi and Vice versa are advised to use the Mathura Road, Ashram and DND Marg and those coming from Badarpur to use the Ashram Chowk route.”
On the other hand, the outrage at Shaheen Bagh area of south Delhi, which left the nation in a standstill condition, continued for 23rd day on Sunday as elderly women are sitting on the road for day and night continuously.
The iconic Shaheen Bagh in Delhi, while raging out against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC has now reached an endless limit. Cold waves swept across north India, but still braving the harsh winter chill, anti-CAA protesters continued their illegal and unauthorised agitation with tacit support from Delhi Police ignoring the huge less to business, education and terrorism sector.
Shaheen Bagh is a neighbourhood in the South Delhi District of Delhi, India. It is the southernmost colony of the Okhla area, situated along the banks of the Yamuna.
This continuous agitation by small group of people has contributed a loss of crores of rupees to business , fuel and Human Resources too.
Students didn’t attend schools and colleges for many days now, as the roads are continuously blocked by old ladies demanding a rollback of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and thus, school buses can’t reach the houses for picking small kids of the neighbouring areas.
On the other hand, government insists that CAA/NRC laws are “humanitarian” and that Muslims have nothing to worry about it, but sadly, opponents are not convinced and have held rallies across the South Asian nation. These agitators often met with force and brutality by the police.
Authorities have warned the Shaheen Bagh protesters that the police will clear the road if they do not leave, but no action has been taken so far
