DELHI BJP CONDEMNS KEJRIWAL GOVERNMENT’s UNPRECEDENTED HIKE IN THE RATES OF COFFEE & EATABLES AT DELHI TOURISM COFFEE HOMES CAUSING WIDESPREAD RESENTMENT AMONGST SENIOR CITIZENS
New Delhi, 1st June. Delhi BJP President Shri Satish Upadhyay has condemned the unprecedented hike in the rates of Coffee & other eatables at Delhi Tourism’s Coffee Homes. He has said that with the latest increase done today Kejriwal Government has made these Coffee Homes inaccessible for the senior citizens who till now frequented them as a social gathering point. There is wide resentment amongst the regular visitors.
Shri Upadhyay has said that during 1980s the then Shri Jagpravesh Chandra administration of Delhi had setup a chain of Coffee Homes in Delhi to specifically cater as social & discussion get together points for senior citizens, retired persons, journalists and students with limited financial resources.
Shri Upadhyay has said that when in 2013 Kejriwal Government came to power at that time in the main Coffee Home located in Connaught Place the Filter Coffee was sold at Rs. 18 and a plate of Sambhar Vada cost Rs. 40 but after the repeated hikes including of today the 1st June, 2016 Delhi Government has fixed a price of Rs. 40 for a cup of Coffee and Sambhar Vada will cost Rs. 100 a plate. A plate of Rajma-Rice at Rs. 160 a plate will cost as much as it costs in any costly restaurant of Connaught Place.
