DELHI BJP HOLDS MEMORIAL MEETING FOR PATHANKOT AIRBASE MARTYRS
New Delhi, 5th January. Delhi BJP today organised a meeting in the memory of the armed forces personnel killed fighting the terrorist in Pathankot Airbase. Party leaders & workers paid floral tributes to the martyrs and lit candles in their memory. BJP workers observed two minutes silence in the memory of the martyrs.
Delhi BJP President Sh. Satish Upadhyay, National Secretaries Sh. Maheish Girri & Sh. R.P.Singh, Pradesh Org. Gen. Secretary Sh. Sidharthan, former State Presidents Sh. V.K. Malhotra, Sh. Mange Ram Garg, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Sh. Vijendra Gupta, MPs Sh. Ramesh Bidhuri, Shri Pravesh Verma & Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Pradesh Gen. Secretaries Sh. Ashish Sood & Smt. Rekha Gupta along with other state & district office bearers joined the memorial meeting.
Paying tributes on behalf of Delhi BJP workers Shri Satish Upadhyay said that today the country is not in an official war but for last several years our armed forces are fighting a regular war against the terror elements operating from both across the border and within the country. Our paramilitary forces as also the armed forces have sacrificed a lot to protect the country from the nefarious designs of terrorists operating as foreign mercenaries, naxals or religious fundamentalists.
Shri Upadhyay said that the terror attack witnessed at Pathankot is nothing less than what we saw at Mumbai and once again our paramilitary and other armed forces commandos put up their best risking lives to protect the crucial airbase. The country is grateful to the martyrs on their supreme sacrifice.
Leader of the Opposition Shri Vijender Gupta said that the across border terrorism is a new form of war and it is really sad that our armed forces have to sacrifice fighting against these hidden enemies. He paid tributes to the Pathankot martyrs.
