DELHI BJP PRESIDENT VISITS DELHI DEHAT TO MEET FARMERS FACING CROP LOSS & ASSESS THE LOSS AND ASSURES THEM OF ALL POSSIBLE ASSISTANCE

New Delhi, 15th MarchDelhi BJP’s President Shri Satish Upadhyay who has been spearheading the campaign for proper & immediate relief for the farmers of Delhi facing financial hardship due to the failure of 3rd crop in a row during last 13 months, today visited several villages near Nangloi in North West Delhi. He was accompanied by Chairman Standing Committee of North DMC Shri Mohan Bhardwaj, former Mayor Master Azad Singh, District BJP Presidents Shri Jayendra Dabas & Shri Vinod Sehrawat, Pradesh BJP Office bearers Shri Jai Prakash & Shri Jaiveer Rana and other BJP leaders from the rural belt.

Delhi BJP President met the farmers in 24 Villages including Nizampur, Jaunti, Madanpur Dabas, Hiran Kundna, Tikri, Ladpur, Mazra, Dariyapur, Harawali, Ghogha etc. to try to assess their losses and extend them all support of the centre government. At most villages the farmers complained to the BJP President that the relief promised by the Delhi Government after last year’s crop failure is yet to reach them. Many farmers said that those who got relief even they did not get the amounts as publicized by the Kejriwal Government.Shri Upadhyay promised to take up the matter with the Lt. Governor of Delhi.

Speaking to farmers Shri Upadhyay said PM Shri Narendra Modi recently with intent to help the farmers in union territories like Delhi has directed the Union Home Ministry & Union Agriculture Ministry in National Disaster Relief Fund by setting up a Union Territories Disaster Relief Fund. Crop Insurance Schemes too have been extended for Delhi farmers and now on this will make giving relief to farmers in Delhi an easier task.

Now the relief can speedily reach the farmers if Delhi Government sheds politics and seeks help from the Centre by fulfilling formalities at the earliest.

Shri Upadhyay after meeting the farmers said that farmers of Delhi most of who hold small holdings stand shattered. This 3rd crop loss has broken them down not only economically & but socially too. In dozens of families marriages stand fixed for April & May keeping faith on crop returns and now the farmers hope of keep their family’s social commitments stand shattered.
