Delhi government to build EV charging stations at all state-run offices

New Delhi, February 10: The Delhi government on Wednesday announced that it will build EV charging stations at all state-run offices within a period of 3 months for promoting Electric mobility.
“The Delhi government has decided that electric vehicle charging stations will now be installed in all its offices in the city. The general public, in addition to government employees, will be able to charge their vehicles here. People will be able to charge their vehicles while working in government offices. Along with this, electric vehicles will motivate government officials and employees to come to work,” said state transport minister Kailash Gahlot HT Quoted.
According to the order issued by Delhi government, all Departments under the state government must identify a suitable locations and install public charging stations on their premises. Within three months, electric vehicle charging stations will be installed in all government bulidings.
As per the order, a subsidy of Rs 6,000 per charging point will be provided for the establishment of an EV charging station through a DISCOM-empanelled vendor.
The transport department, in collaboration with the Delhi DISCOMs, has established a single point of contact. The single window process can be used to install EV chargers from DISCOM-empanelled vendors at reduced and low tariffs.
