Delhi Govt to Pay Rs5000 to Construction workers due to ban on construction projects in Delhi

New Delhi, 2 November 2022: Delhiās Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has ordered the labour department to give each construction worker, Rs 5,000 as financial assistance during the city’s ban on construction-related employment to combat pollution.
“Due to pollution, construction has been halted throughout Delhi. During this time when construction activities are prohibited, I have instructed Manish Sisodia, the labour minister, to provide each construction worker with Rs 5000 per week in financial support,ā he said.
This development came after the air quality deteriorated to “severe” on Saturday, the central air quality panel ordered the responsible authorities to impose a ban on all construction and demolition activities throughout the Delhi-NCR region, with the exception of significant projects, under the third level of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP III).
