New Delhi, 12th April: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday inaugurated Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Senior Citizen Home, New Delhi along with Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam. The CM monitored all the facilities and the condition of the rooms in the senior citizen home, following which the Havan was started.

In his speech, Kejriwal said that the facility is up to the mark and it has been made keeping in mind the needs of the old-aged people. Every room can accommodate about 2-3 senior citizens with an attached bathroom. There is an on-site doctor, physiotherapist, available medicines, food, library and many other facilities.

“We have tried that whoever comes to live here, do not feel that they don’t have a home”, CM Arvind Kejriwal said. In today’s time, some parents have to leave their homes due to their uncaring children while some do not have children, they can use this facility and feel like home, CM added.

The Delhi government has planned 9 such homes to be constructed in the future to accommodate over 1000 senior-citizens. He also urged the citizens to undertake a free pilgrimage initiative by the Delhi government, which was stopped in the covid pandemic. The plan includes visiting Dwarka, Mathura, Vrindavan, Ajmer Sharif, Rameshwaram and so on with AC hotels and travel.
