New Delhi, January 27: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday unfurled 115-feet national flag at 75 locations across the national capital to celebrate the 75th year of Independence.

The target is to install flags at 500 locations of Delhi in the coming months to promote Patriotism among the citizens.

Kejriwal, after the flag unfurling ceremony, while addressing the media, said, “In phase 1, our target is to install flags at 500 locations in Delhi. Our aim is that everyone will see the flag 2-3 times a day. In our mundane life, sometimes we forget our country, society. These flags will give us a sense of patriotism.”

He further added, “Delhi is possibly the only city where the 115-feet national tricolours on such large scale are being installed; we are getting it examined if it qualifies for Guinness world record then Delhi might get its name included in it.”

The installation of the high-mast national flags is being done by the Public Works Department (PWD) under the Delhi government’s “Deshbhakti Budget” to celebrate India’s 75th year of independence.
