Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Increases Passenger fares

New Delhi (07/05/2017) : Anuj Dayal, Executive Director, Corporate Communication and K K Sabrawal, director of finance, DMRC addressed a press conference in this regard and told about increased fare.
Director Finance said, “Fair increase has been because of increased cost of operation. Primarily maintainace and electricity cost has increased manifold”.

The Increase in fare will be as follows :
The New fares are 0 to 2Km 10 Rs, 2 to 5 Km 15 Rs, 5 to 12km 20 Rs, 12 to 21Km 30 Rs, 21-32 Km 40 Rs and for 32+Km fare will be 50 Rs.
On Sunday and national holidays 26Jan, 15 August and 2nd October special fares will be applicable as mentioned below:
0-2, 2-5 and 5-12 KM will be 10 Rs
12-21 will be 21 Rs, 21-32 will be 30 Rs and beyond 32 it is 40 Rs
Increase in fare will be applicable from Wednesday, 10 May, 2017.
However this is only the first phase of fare increase and DMRC has also planned a second phase increase from October 1.
From October 1 the minimum fare will remain 10 whereas maximum fare will exceed to 60 Rs.
