Delhi Police arrests 11 in connection with the sexual assault on a woman in Shahdara

New Delhi, January 28: Delhi Police so far has arrested a total of 11 people, including 9 women in connection with the sexual assault on women in Delhi’s Kasturba Nagar of Shahdara district which took place on Wednesday.
Further, the Delhi Police on Friday said that nine out of the eleven accused in the FIR are women and more arrests will be made soon. reported ANI.
On Wednesday, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly abducted, beaten, gang-raped & paraded on the streets with her face blackened, head shaved & garlanded with slippers by a group of people
Both the accused and the victim according to DCP, Shahdara, R Sathiyasundaram were neighbours in past.
Accused alleged that her son had died by suicide last year in November because of that woman.
Moreover, ANI reported according to the victim’s sister, a boy living in the neighbourhood who claimed to be in love with the woman committed suicide last year.
The victim’s sister said, “His family blames my sister for their son’s death.”
Police have registered a case under different sections of the Indian panel code including gang rape, physical assault, sexual assault and criminal conspiracy among others.
