New Delhi, 13 November 2022: Delhi police have arrested three men for reportedly holding up knives to many bus passengers and robbing them on a fast transit vehicle close to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital (RTV).

After investigation, the suspects were identified by the police as Pradeep, Sugam and Abhishek. Officers said that the three suspects, who were armed with knives and daggers, boarded the bus at Kalyanpuri and made threats against the driver and other passengers. They demanded all of the passengers’ phones, wallets, and other possessions while ordering the driver to stay on the same path.

According to a senior police officer, they threatened the driver before getting off at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. They had all of the passengers’ jewellery and cell phones taken within five to ten minutes.

Police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call about the incident at around 7 o’clock in the evening, according to Amrutha Guguloth, DCP (East). The team noticed some passengers gathered outside the bus. They reported the robbery to the police, and a case was opened. “We organised teams to examine CCTV footage taken along the route and find the offenders. We were able to locate and capture the culprits using technical monitoring and local research. The majority of the stolen goods have already been found, according to the DCP.

The police further clarified that they had planned the heist and chose to rob people on a private bus that had neither a conductor nor security personnel. They got on the bus in the evening and held everyone at knifepoint when they realised they were close to a residential area. They are still on the run, as are their accomplices in the crime. Raids are being undertaken to find the suspects.
