Delhi Police detains Youth Congress Members protesting against manhandling of Priyanka Gandhi

New Delhi(29/12/2019): Today, the Indian Youth Congress held protest outside Uttar Pradesh bhawan against manhadling of Priyanka Gandhi by Uttar Pradesh Police.
However, the protesters were immediately stopped and detained by the Police and taken to Mandir Marg Police Station and Connaught Place Police Station.
The protest was led by IYC President Srinivas B.V who was also detained by the Police along with other Youth Congress office bearers and members.
Slamming the Uttar Pradesh government after the state police “manhandled” Priyanka Gandhi, while condemning the act, IYC President Sh. Srinivas B.V said that there was no law and order situation in the State and he demanded immediate resignation of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and sought imposition of President’s rule in Uttar Pradesh.
Priyanka Gandhi was in Lucknow on the foundation day of the party. She was stopped and manhadled by the State Police when she was on her way to meet the family members of a retired IPS officer.
Uttar Pradesh Police manhandled Priyanka Gandhi. IYC is seeking an investigation into the incident. This is despotism and there is complete breakdown of the law and order in the State of Uttar Pradesh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has lost all Moral, Political and Social rights to remain as the Chief Minister of the State.
The protest was led by IYC National President Shri Srinivas BV, along with IYC General Secretary Shri Harish Pawar, IYC Secretary Shri Deepak Chotiwala, Delhi PYC President Shri Vikas Chikara, IYC Secretary Shri Vineet Kamboj along with other State youth Congress office bearers were also present in the protest.
