#Delhi Police – IDOL PROCESSION OF #VISHWAKARMA ON 19.09.2014.

There will be immersion of idols of Vishwakarma Celebration  in river Yamuna on 19th September, 2014 from 12.00 noon onwards. A large number of devotees shall move in processions, consisting of tempos & private vehicles, and congregate at the ghats of  Yamuna River for immersion of the idols.

 

Route of the main procession:

 

STARTS FROM DESH BANDHU GUPTA ROAD – EAST PARK ROAD – FILMISTAN – AZAD MARKET – BARF KHANA – TIS HAZARI – ISBT – – CHANDGI RAM AKHARA – VISARJAN GHAT YAMUNA RIVER

 

Visarjan ghats:

 

1.      Soor Ghat

2.      Geeta Ghat

3.      Kudesiya Ghat

4.      Kalindi Kunj

 

Affected Roads:

 

The following roads will be affected due to movement of processions:

 

1 DESH BANDHU GUPTA ROAD 2 EAST PARK ROAD
3 RANI JHANSI ROAD 4 BOULEVARD ROAD
5 RING ROAD (FROM YAMUNA BAZAR TO CHANDGI RAM AKHARA) 6 OUTER RING ROAD (FROM CHANDGI RAM AKHARA TO WAZIRABAD ROAD)
7 WAZIRABAD ROAD 8 MATHURA ROAD
9 G.D. BIRLA MARG (ROAD NO. 13A) 10 FAIZ ROAD

 

Areas/roads in close proximity of the above roads may also face congestion owing to movement of processions.

 

Special instruction to general public

 

1.      The commuters going to Old Delhi Railway Station and ISBT Kashmere Gate should leave in advance and have sufficient time to accommodate possible delay in routes.

2.      Avail public transport to help decongestion of roads.

3.      Park their vehicles only at designated parking lots.

4.      Avoid roadside parking as it causes hindrance to normal flow of traffic.

5.      Use Delhi Metro.

6.      In case any unusual/unidentified object or person is seen moving in suspicious circumstances it must be informed to Police Control Room.

 

Diversions may be enforced due to which congestion of traffic is likely to take place.  Motorists are requested to have patience, observe traffic rules & road discipline and follow directions of traffic personnel deployed at all intersections.  People are requested to plan their journey in advance to avoid inconvenience. In order to avoid delay in journey, commuters are requested to use Delhi Metro for to and fro travel.
