New Delhi, 7 June 2022: The Delhi Police on Tuesday granted police security to Nupur Sharma, a BJP spokesperson and her family who was recently suspended.
It all began with the BJP spokesperson giving controversial taunts to the Islamic Prophet Mohammad for which she has been receiving death threats and later an FIR was also filed for the same. Following which, Nupur Sharma was suspended for her derogatory comments which incited protests in several Muslim countries.
The Delhi Police officials said that Nupur Sharma and her family have been given security after she alleged harassment and threats. A FIR has been filed under charges for criminal intimidation, Criminal intimidation by anonymous communication, section 509 and 153A for promoting hatred.
