Delhi Police recover two kidnapped minor girls from Bihar after extensive interstate search

New Delhi, July 26 (IANS) The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Delhi Police’s Central District has successfully rescued two kidnapped minor girls from Bihar following an extensive interstate operation involving technical surveillance, intelligence gathering and coordination with local police.

With the latest recoveries, the unit has traced and recovered 46 missing persons during the current year.

According to a press release issued by the Central District Police on Sunday, the operation led to the successful recovery of two minor girls in separate kidnapping cases registered at Paharganj and Anand Parbat police stations.

The police said the investigation involved the analysis of footage from 65 CCTV cameras and the verification of nearly 140 orphanages, shelter homes, religious places and red-light areas. The search also included multiple interstate operations before the victims were finally located in Bihar.

Describing the operation, Delhi Police said, “Interstate search led to the safe recovery of two kidnapped/missing minor girls from Bihar. Two kidnapping cases registered at Police Station Paharganj and PS Anand Parbat were successfully worked out.”

According to the press release, the first victim, identified as “K.K.”, aged 13 years and a resident of Paharganj, had been reported missing in a case registered under FIR No. 347/2026 at Paharganj Police Station.

Police said a breakthrough came after the team received specific secret information along with a mobile number linked to the girl. The handset was immediately placed under technical surveillance, initially locating the victim in Saharsa, Bihar. However, before the police team reached the location, the mobile signal shifted to Supaul. Acting swiftly and in coordination with the local police at Chhatapur Police Station in Supaul district, the AHTU team successfully traced and rescued the girl.

The second victim, identified as “N.K.”, aged 15 years and a resident of Anand Parbat, had been reported missing in December 2025 under FIR No. 690/2025 at Anand Parbat Police Station.

During the investigation, police received credible information that the girl had been seen in Benipatti in Bihar’s Madhubani district.

The investigation later revealed that kidnappers deliberately and repeatedly changed their locations and SIM cards in an attempt to evade police detection, creating significant challenges for the investigators. Despite these obstacles, the AHTU team continued to pursue every lead until both girls were safely recovered and brought back to Delhi.

The operation was carried out by Sub Inspector Raj Bahadur Singh, Woman Constable Manisha and Constable Ashish Kumar of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit under the supervision of Inspector Anil Yadav, In-charge of AHTU, and the overall supervision of ACP/DIU Sunil Kumar.

Highlighting the significance of the operation, the Central District Police said the successful recovery of the two girls has taken the AHTU’s recovery tally to 46 missing persons during the current year.
