Delhi Police Recovers IED from Ghazipur Flower Market; case registered

New Delhi, January 14: Delhi Police recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in Ghazipur Flower Market of East Delhi on Friday & a case has been registered in the Delhi Police Special Cell.

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said, “Based on the information received, an IED has been recovered,”

Moreover, ANI reported that Delhi Police said, “A case is being registered in the Delhi Police Special Cell under provisions of the Explosive Act.”

Further, National Security Guard (NSG) carried out a controlled explosion of the IED found at East Delhi’s Ghazipur Flower Market & defused the IED recovered from Ghazipur.

ANI reported that a National Security guard said, “A bomb disposal squad of National Security Guard has defused the IED recovered from Ghazipur,”

Further, he added, “Samples of the IED have been collected; team to submit a report on the chemical component used to assemble the explosive.”

Earlier, the police had rushed a bomb disposal squad to the market in East Delhi; fire engines are also sent to the site after the recovery of an unattended bag.
