With the arrest of one auto lifter namely Sahnawaz @ Rana (48 years) s/o Allaudin r/o H. No. 30/1, Gali No. 3, Bunkar Nagar, Islamabad, District Meerut, (UP), a team of Special Staff, South District has recovered 4 stolen cars and worked out 5 cases of M.V. theft.

 

Brief facts:

 

                   On 17.10.14, on receipt of secret information about the movement of a notorious auto lifter namely Sahnawaz @ Rana, a team comprising SIs Amit Kumar, Gyanender ASIs Bhagirath, Mahender, HCs Vinod Kumar, Manoj, Vinay, Joginder and Cts. Sonu Kumar and Arjun was formed under the supervision of Inspr. Akhileshwar Yadav.  The information was further developed which revealed that accused Sahnawaz will go to Gurgoan via M.G. Road for disposal of a stolen Indica Car (silver colour) by using fake number plate.  Immediately, a trap was laid by the team at M.G. Road near Jain Dadabari.  On the instance of informer, the said car was stopped for checking.  The occupant was identified as Sahnawaz @ Rana and on being asked for ownership documents of vehicle, he could not produce the same.  On verification, the said car was found stolen from the area of PS Pandav Nagar vide case FIR No. 541/14 u/s 379 IPC.

 

Interrogation:

 

During investigation, accused Sahnawaz disclosed to have stolen many cars from Delhi and NCR.  At his instance, 3 more stolen were recovered from different areas in Delhi and UP.

  2. FIR No. 1970/14, U/s 411/482 IPC PS Mehrauli.
  3. FIR No. 680/14, U/s 379/411 IPC PS Mehrauli.
  4. FIR No. 1310/14, U/s 379 IPC PS Sahibabad UP.
  5. FIR No. 1382/14, U/s 379 IPC PS Sahibabad UP.

 

Recoveries:

 

  1. 4 stolen cars (make Tata Indica, Maruti Swift and Maruti Baleno)

 

Police personnel involved in the good work are being rewarded suitably.
