New Delhi, 23 April 2022: The Delhi Police has planned to conduct a ‘bone age test’ on a youngster arrested in connection with the Jahangirpuri violence case. The decision was taken after the parents of the accused stated in the court that their child was a minor.
According to the Indian law, law enforcers cannot arrest adolescents. The accused was taken into custody on April 17, when the police believed that he was 21-years-old, according to sources.
After the family claimed in the court about the accused being a minor, he was transferred to the Juveniles Justice Board, source added. However, the Delhi police sources told ANI that they believe the accused’s family is lying about the age as a the police will file a petition in the court to perform a bone test on the person.
