DELHI POLICETRAFFIC ADVISORY – TRAFFIC ADVISORY IDOL IMMERSION PROCESSIONS OF LORD GANESHA ON 27.09.2015.

There will be immersion of idols of Lord Ganesha in Delhi at various ghats of river Yamuna and other water bodies on 27^h September, 2015 from 11.00 a.m. onwards. A large number of devotees shall move in processions, consisting of tempos & private vehicles, and congregate at Kudesia Ghat, Geeta Ghat, Shyam Ghat, Kalindi Kunj etc. for immersion of the idols.

         

Routes of main processions:

 

1. MAHARASHTRA SADAN – COPERNICUS MARG – MANDI HOUSE – SIKANDRA ROAD – ‘W’–POINT: B.S.Z. MARG – DELHI GATE – J.L.N. MARG – T/L RING ROAD – RAJ GHAT – YAMUNA BAZAR – T/L S.P. MUKHERJEE MARG AND REACH AT TOWN HALL OLD DELHI RAILWAY STATION AND THEN PROCEED VIA CHATTA RAIL, HANUMAN SETU, RING ROAD – I.S.B.T. TO YAMUNA GHAT.

 

2. SARASWATI MARG – BEADON PURA, PYARE LAL ROAD – KAROL BAGH – FAIZ ROAD – RANI JHANSI ROAD – AZAD MARKET – BURF KHANA – TIS HAZARI – ISBT – RING RAOD- YAMUNA GHAT.

 

3. CHOWGULE PUBLIC SCHOOL, FAIZ ROAD, KAROL BAGH – FILMISTAN – BARA HINDU RAO – AZAD MARKET – PUL MITHAI – PILI KOTHI – SHYAMA PRASAD MUKERJEE MARG – QUEENS GARDEN – TOWN HALL – CHANDNI CHOWK – RED FORT – CHHATTA RAIL – HANUMAN SETU – RING ROAD – YAMUNA GHAT.

 

4. FARIDABAD VIA MATHURA ROAD UPTO KALINDI KUNJ & FROM NOIDA TO KALINDI KUNJ.

 

Affected Roads:

 

The following roads will be affected due to movement of processions:

 

1	From 11.00 AM to 3.00 PM	Saraswati Marg, Faiz Road, Beadonpura
2	From 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM	Copernicus Marg, Sikandara Road, Tilak Marg
3	From 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM	Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg
4	From 2.00 PM to 8.00 PM	Wazirabad Road including Wazirabad bridge, Ring Road from Rajghat upto Burari via ISBT, Majnu ka Tilla, Wazirabad bridge Mor etc, S.P. Mukherjee Marg, Rani Jhanshi Road, Boulevard Road, Netaji Subhash Marg, Yamuna bridge Vikas Marg, Mathura Road, G.D. Birla Marg (Road No. 13A)

 

Areas/roads in close proximity of the above roads may also face congestion owing to movement of processions.

 

 

Diversions:

 

1. Commercial vehicles will not be allowed on Wazirabad bridge and will be diverted towards ISBT bridge

 

2. Yamuna Pushta road towards Jaitpur from Kalindi Kunj would be one way. Traffic from Jaitpur side to Kalindi Kunj will be directed to Kachchi Colony Road, Agra canal.
3. On exit from Kalindi Kunj Ghat all empty vehicles will take compulsory left turn on Jaitpur Pushta and use Kachchi Colony Road on Agra canal.

 

Parking:

 

Devotees must avoid parking their vehicles on the road sides near the Ghats. There will be limited parking available near/at Ghats on the following locations:

 

1. Near U turn, Sanyas Ashram on Shahdara loop from Monastery side onwards near ISBT.
2. Kudesiya Ghat/Geeta Ghat ISBT.
3. Shyam Ghat.
4. Chhath Pooja Ghat.
5. Kalindi Kunj.

 

General appeal to public/organizers:-

 

1. The organizers should educate the devotees to obey traffic rules.
2. Please do not indulge in driving without helmet, triple riding on two wheelers, carrying passengers in transport vehicles.
3. No drunken driving.
4. Organizers should use LGVs or cars/small vehicles for carrying idols.
5. Do not use HGVs or tractor–trolleys for carrying of idols and people.
6. Organizers should deploy sufficient numbers of volunteers along the route and at important intersections as well as during the immersion at Ghats.
7. No loud music should be played.
8. Idol immersion should be finished before sunset.
9. Follow directions of policemen on duty.
