NEW DELHI, April 1— After the great success of the Congress rally at the Ajmal Khan Park in Karol Bagh on 30th March, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) has announced that on 6 April (Saturday) at 4 p.m, AICC vice-president Shri Rahul Gandhi will address a very big Congress rally at the Ramlila ground near Virat Cinema at Ambedkar Nagar. This information was given by DPCC president Shri Arvinder Singh, MLA and chief spokesperson Shri Mukesh Sharma at a press conference at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today.

On the occasion, Shri Arvinder Singh welcomed to the Congress party present BJP leader and former Delhi State president of the NCP Shri Sukhbir Panwar and North East Delhi’s Shri Satan Pal Daima. It may be recalled that Shri Daima had contested the last Assembly elections as an independent candidate from Karawal Nagar, and had secured 20,000 votes. Similarly, Shri Sukhbir Panwar is a prominent leader from the New Delhi area. DPCC said the admission of these two leaders into the Congres party has strengthened the party in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.

Shri Arvinder Singh said the large Ramlila ground at Ambedkar Nagar was chosen for the rally to further consolidate the people’s increasing faith in the Congress Party in Delhi. He said on all four sides of the Ambedkar Nagar, majority residents were from the re-settlement colonies, settlements of Dalits, backward classes, minorities, unauthorized colonies and villages, as these people had always reposed their faith in the Congress Party, and that was the reason a decision was taken to hold the rally at the Ambedkar Nagar. He said despite the rising temperatures, the rally will be an historic event, and the party has already begun preparations for the rally.

Shri Mukesh Sharma said there was great enthusiasm among the people for Shri Rahul Gandhi’s rally, as this rally will not only enliven the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, but will also establish that the traditional vote bank of the Congress party has returned to the party fold. He said for the preparations of the rally, corner meetings and sittings were also being held.

CONGRESS HOLD AAM AADMI PARTY AND SHRI ARVIND KEJRIWAL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE END OF SUBSIDY FOR POWER AND WATER—CASE WILL BE FILED AGAINST KEJRIWAL FOR BETRAYAL.

Shri Arvinder Singh told reporters that Shri Arvind Kejriwal was fully responsible for the end of power and water subsidy in Delhi from April 1. He said Shri Kejirwal had promised to give 700 litres of free potable water, which was an enactment of a drama, and that was the reason, despite the Congress Party’s support, he deliberately sought approval in the Delhi Assembly to sustain the power subsidy and free water supply of 700 litres only upto March 30. He said even permission for this was given only with the support of the Congress party, and asked when Kejriwal was intent on resigning, why did he not seek permission for subsidy from the Delhi Assembly upto December? Shri Arvinder Singh made it clear that Shri Arvind Kejriwal was fully responsible for the hike in the power and water tariffs, and the people of Delhi will never forgive him for this act of his.

Shri Mukesh Sharma said a criminal case should be filed against Shri Arvind Kejriwal for betraying the people on power and water tariff. He said Shri Kejriwal had left this issue pending to vitiate the atmosphere among the people. He said due to Kejriwal’s irresponsible and anti-people activities, the subsidy given by the previous Congress Government has also been stopped. He appealed to the people of Delhi to teach Shri Kejriwal an unforgettable lesson in the coming Lok Sabha elections so that in future, nobody should muster the courage to betray the people of Delhi.
