Delhi state Anganwadi workers today staged a massive protest demonstration against the Delhi government for failing to implement legal-binding agreement that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had signed with the Delhi state Anganwadi Helpers and workers union in 2015.

The agreement stipulated that the honorarium of the workers and helpers will be increased. “But two years on, the government hasn’t been able to fulfill what Cheif Minister has given us in writing,” a protester said.

Castigaing the recent termination of several anganwadi workers by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the protestors blamed that the authorities haven’t been able to provide enough resources for what is expected.

Union President, Shivani Kaul said, “Despite making several rounds to Delhi Secreterait, our demand, that government has already agreed to, have not been fulfilled.” Shivani accused authorities of betraying the Anganwadi workers.
