New Delhi, 14th May 2023: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has now taken a step to do away with the token system in the region.

A revamped idea for the tickets is now through QR codes. Authorities are now handing over paper slips with QR codes embedded in them to facilitate tokenless travel in the metros.

Authorities assure that the QR codes would soon be available on mobile phones as well. Commuters are hesitant for the change to be implemented, for they are really proud of the metro facilities, connectivity and convenience.

The QR model was first tested in the capital region by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, it took some time for the people to become comfortable with the technology.

So hencefortth, instead of a token, one will get a paper slip from the customer care and scan the same to enter and exit the stations.
