Delhi’s fav half marathon Super Sikh run to be scheduled on 8th December

New Delhi: Today, Hero Electric announced the 4th edition of Super Sikh Run to promote Humanitarian Values & the concept of ‘Sewa’. Founded four pillars – Sewa, Environment, Learning and Fitness. The SuperSikh is scheduled for 8th December and will start from Indira Gandhi Stadium and is expected to have 7 thousand participants.

The event was addressed by Arjuna Awardee Boxer Mandeep Jangra along with the face of the event and Chief inspiration officer, Major DP Singh, Kargil war survivor and India’s first amputee marathoner and Limca Record holder.

While Interacting with Ten News, Maj DP Singh said, “This time there is a change in the venue of the event as number of participants will be more and the earlier venue Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib has not ample space to accommodate such large crowd.”

Further he told that “Shahas will be a important part of the event under which all kind of disabled people will be participating in the run that to without any special privileges. We want to make it inclusive so that it can convey that all these people are also equally capable.”

Making an important announcement regarding the run Naveen Munjal, MD, Hero Electric said, ” To channelize the raw talent of young athletes in India, Hero Electric along with SuperSikh Foundation have initiated the Sub3010KM project. Under this, participants will get the opportunity to prove their mettle with Speed and Endurance by breaking the 30-minute barrier for 10Km run. The winners to break the Sub 30-minute barrier for Men and Sub 35-minute barrier for Women will be awarded with Hero Electric Optima” .

The event will witness world’s oldest marathon runner Fauja Singh and Bollywood celebrities like Randeep Huda, Daler Mehndi and cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
