Delhi’s Finance Department Directs the principal secretaries and Departments to Report on the Fiscal Tension of the Delhi Govt

New Delhi, 29 May 2022: Delhi’s finance department has an directed all the principal secretaries, secretaries, and heads of all departments to report the fiscal stress and risk of the AAP government.

Certain questionnaires have been given to the departments to consider in the report and submit it by 3 June. The report was earlier sought by May 11 and the questionnaire was received following the RBI governor’s request for a detailed report of the fiscal tension and risk of different states and UTs, stated in the letter issued by the finance department of New Delhi.

According to sources, the report has not been submitted yet, therefore the departments have been asked to submit it on priority basis by June 3.

The report has ordered to include the subsidies given by the government on agriculture, power, food and other sectors from 2019-2020 to 2022-23, loss incurred by the state due to natural disasters and guarantees of the government in the last 5 years, including the status of financial institutions, non-fiscal companies, municipal corporations, pension of the employees and so on.
