3rd Dec, New Delhi – The Third Social Justice Conference, organized by the All India Federation for Social Justice and spearheaded by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, concluded with strong calls for advancing equality and inclusivity across India. P Wilson, senior advocate and convenor of the Federation, hailed the state’s pioneering efforts in social justice during an interview with Ten News.

Wilson lauded Chief Minister Stalin as a “warrior of social justice” and emphasized Tamil Nadu’s leadership in welfare policies and reservation systems. “Our Honourable Chief Minister is following the mantle of leaders like Thanthai Periyar and Kalaignar Karunanidhi. His initiatives are uplifting the downtrodden and ensuring inclusion, particularly for women,” he said, citing the state’s diverse welfare schemes.

The conference saw participation from 23 political parties nationwide, reflecting a broad coalition for the cause of equality. Leaders at the event addressed ongoing challenges, including the neglect of constitutional reservations in central government jobs and educational opportunities. “Social justice cannot take a back seat,” Wilson said. “This movement aims to make everything available for everyone, ensuring no community is left behind.”

Wilson also noted the participation of various political leaders and ministers who underscored the necessity of implementing affirmative action across sectors. He expressed hope that Tamil Nadu’s model could serve as a template for the rest of the country.

When asked about the inclusivity of the conference, Wilson reaffirmed the focus on uniting diverse voices but dismissed the involvement of right-wing representatives, who he said oppose the principles of the movement.

The event reinforced the resolve to bring systemic equality to India, with Wilson concluding, “This programme must move forward in other states to fulfill our vision of an equitable society.”
