DMRC starts bid to get rakes for Noida Metro.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has initiated tenders for 78 coaches on the 28-km Noida-Greater Noida Metro line. The estimated cost is Rs 700 crore. The fund will be provided by Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), officials said on Monday.

The agency selected for the project will be responsible for design, manufacture and commissioning of the carriages. It will also be expected to supply the coaches within 118 weeks of winning the contract, sources said. There will be 26 trains, each supporting three coaches. The design had already been approved by Authority chairman and CEO Rama Raman in February this year. The coaches would have state-of-the art technology. A model of the coach has been readied and approved, said NMRC officials. Tender documents will be on sale from April 10, a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for May 26. The process will be completed and an agency finalized by June 23.
