DPCC Chief Ajay Maken alleges Union govt. of slowing the probe into a new Bijli Scam

On February 5, 2013, the Congress led Congress led UPA government initiated an enquiry into the practice of over invoicing on import of electrical equipment/machinery by a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd. Finally on the basis of the investigations conducted on May 15, 2014 a 97 page show cause notice was issued to a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd.

Finally on the basis of the investigations conducted on May 15, 2014 a 97 page show cause notice was issued to a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Ltd.

The details findings of of the investigation by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence concluded in 2014, gave clear and compel evidence of over invoicing of the machinery by Adani group, alleged DPCC Chief Ajay Maken on Friday in New Delhi.

He further said that, however, with the change of guard, the BJP led NDA government decided to go slow on this important matter, as a result till today investigation has not reached its logical end.

Talking about the amount of whole scam, he counted around INR 50,000 Crores and termed it ‘Bijli Scam ‘.
