DPCC SHARMISTHA MUKHERJEE SAYS KUMAR VISHWAS SHOULD HAVE PRESENTED HIMSELF BEFORE DWC

It is highly deplorable that even after the Supreme Court order prohibiting photographs of any political leaders and prominent persons in Government-funded advertisements, photographs of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of   Delhi continues to be prominently displayed all over the town in various ads taken out by the Delhi Govt. In a press brief today, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Spokesperson Sharmistha Mukherjee slammed Kejriwal Govt. for such “blatant violation of the Supreme Court order”. Ms. Mukherjee said it’s an illegal act committed by the govt and posed a question why should tax-payers money be wasted on this? Ms. Mukherjee said that an audit should be done as to how much money has been spent, and continues to be spent on advertisements portraying CM’s photograph. She demanded that Mr. Kejriwal or his party should pay for these ads that continue to be displayed even after the SC order. She asked why should the tax-payer’s money be wasted for an illegal act committed by the govt. She also lashed out at Mr. Kejriwal and Aam Admi Party for not having any respect for the law of the land; for any institutions like Election Commission, Women’s Commission, media and even court. She said Mr. Kejriwal and AAP are like white ants, which slowly want to eat away the roots of democracy.

Ms. Mukherjee also strongly condemned the nasty campaign unleashed on social media against Chairperson of  Delhi Women’s Commission Mrs. Barkha Singh. Mrs. Singh has lodged complaint with police for the same. These comments, whether they are by so called “AAP” supporters or by anybody, are highly offensive and should be condemned by any decent person. The sad part is that most of these tweets are tagged to Mr. Kumar Viswas. From simple courtesy, Mr. Viswas should have asked his so-called “supporters” not to make such dirty comments about ANY woman. This clearly shows that the AAP leaders do not have any respect or dignity for women, Ms. Mukherjee said. She said not just as DPCC spokesperson, but as a woman she condemns such acts.  These are a group of cowards, who hiding behind the anonymity of social media accounts, heaps dirty abuses. Any dignified person, irrespective of political affiliations, should condemn such acts, she said. She urged the PCC President Shri Ajay Maken to take up this issue with Hon’ble LG of Delhi and the Home Minister at the Centre and write letters to them for probing this.
