DPS Indirapuram Organized Rhapsody – The Annual Function for the Nursery Wing
DPS Indirapuram celebrated ‘Rhapsody’, the annual function for its Nursery Wing on 16th March, 2016. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr. Rita Kapur, Director –Education, Gyanshree School, Noida. The occasion was also graced by Mrs. Santosh Bansal, Pro-Vice Chairperson DPS Indirapuram as the presiding Guest for the day.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the esteemed guests. The school Principal Mrs. Meeta Rai welcomed all into the realm of fantasy. Emphasizing upon the importance of the formative years of school life, she expressed her deep sense of pride for the youngest members of the DPS family. Speaking highly of the talent that each one of the little wonders possessed, she expressed her joy that the school is able to provide a platform for drawing out this innate talent and gently polishing, nurturing and loving it optimum level.
In keeping with the theme – ‘Journey to Disneyland the school foyer was aesthetically decorated with colourful cutouts of Disney characters, balloons and festoons aptly capturing the essence of the forthcoming show.
The school auditorium came alive with a riot of colours as the little ones resplendently dressed in vibrant, multi-hued costumes recreated the magical Disneyland on stage, transporting the audience into a rapturous world of wonder, awe and enchantment. The mesmerizing journey began with a welcome song by the Nursery Choir followed by a glittering Carmella Dance by the tiny tots.
The little ones unfolded the journey by guiding the audience through exotic Disney locales like Adventure Land, Critter Country, Toon World, Fantasy Land and Tomorrow Land. The audience were overwhelmed to meet some evergreen characters from the all-time popular Disney hits like Lion King and Tarzan and Jane. The Enchanting World of TikkiTikki Birds crooning their signature tunes, the adorable Winnie the Pooh, the emblematic Mickey Mouse and other endearing toon characters left the gathering in raptures.
The audience were soon whished away into the fantasy Land of Cinderella, Snow White, Princess Elsa and Anna and the Little Mermaid who stole their hearts away with their sterling display of theatre skills. A futuristic Robotic Dance in Tomorrow Land and the Toy Story enthralled one and all. A meaningful message of harmony was conveyed by the little ones through a well synchronized sequence, ‘It’s a small world’.
The celebrations culminated with a grand parade of famous Disney characters walking majestically, charming all with their exuberance and endearing smiles.
The chief guest, Dr. Rita Kapur commended the school Principal and teachers for concerning and visualizing such a breath taking show. Hailing the show as a spectacular display of talent and creativity, she lauded the children for their level of confidence, perfect coordination and well-rehearsed performance. She further urged the parents to engage the children creatively, connect with them and give them the gift of their time.
The grand extravaganza drew to a close with a vote of thanks proposed by the Junior School Headmistress, Ms. Rohini Duggal.
The programme, suitably titled as ‘Rhapsody’ was indeed a memorable and ecstatic expression of the innocence effervescence the tiny tots.
