DPS organizes an orientation programme on ‘Career Choices in Biotechnology’

Delhi Public School Indirapuram organized an orientation programme for the students of class XI and XII on 26th November, 2015. The programme was specially organized for the students who have taken the Biology stream in order to apprise them of the various avenues related to Bio-Science after completion of class XII. The chief speaker for the programme was Mr. Abhimanyu Jha, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad.
In his presentation Dr. Jha familiarized the students with the various branches of Bio-Technology and the career options open to those pursuing it. He spoke extensively about the associated fields like Forensic Sciences, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Protein Engineering and the scope and potential each field has. Quoting examples from real life he emphasized on the importance of Bio-Technology in our daily lives. Dr. Jha also apprised the students about the research facilities available in India and the various avenues abroad.
The session proved to be an extremely enriching one as it exposed the students to a host of career options available after passing class XII with Biology.
