NEW DELHI (03 October 2025): The Federation of World Academics (FWA) hosted its 8th Annual Conclave 2025 at Le Meridien, New Delhi, celebrating academic brilliance and innovation under the theme “Technology and Teaching-Learning: Challenges and Opportunities.” The conclave brought together some of India’s most eminent educationists, policymakers, and thought leaders to deliberate on the evolving role of technology in shaping the future of education.

The highlight of the event was the Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi Teachers Award 2025 ceremony, where the former Union HRD Minister and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi personally felicitated distinguished educators from across the nation. Among the recipients of the coveted Dr. M.M. Joshi Distinguished Teacher Award was Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi, Director General of IILM, Lodhi Road, New Delhi — a highly respected academic leader with an illustrious career spanning over 47 years.
Dr. Harivansh Chaturvedi Honored for Lifetime Contribution to Education
Dr. Chaturvedi, who holds a Ph.D. in Business Management, has played a pivotal role in advancing management education in India. Under his leadership, IILM has emerged as a progressive institution known for fostering innovation, leadership, and social responsibility in higher education. Over the decades, he has contributed extensively to policy-making, research, and institution-building, besides mentoring hundreds of young academicians and professionals.

Speaking to Ten News Network after receiving the award, Dr. Chaturvedi expressed heartfelt gratitude and deep emotional resonance for the honor. Although I have received several awards in my 48-year academic journey, this one holds special significance. It fills me with immense joy, pride, and satisfaction because it was conferred by Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi — an educationist, statesman, and visionary whom I have known for over three decades since my tenure at AICTE, he shared.
Dr. Chaturvedi further lauded Dr. Joshi’s intellect and vitality, remarking, At the age of 92, he remains mentally agile and physically vibrant. His 45-minute address on ‘Intellectual Freedom – India’s Age-Old Legacy’ captivated and inspired every member of the audience.
On the topic of technology and artificial intelligence in education, Dr. Chaturvedi emphasized balance and human connection: AI and other technologies can complement and enhance teaching-learning processes, but they can never replace the teacher. A true teacher has the transformative power to shape minds and generations — a power no machine can replicate.
A Conclave of Ideas and Inspiration
The conclave opened with a welcome address by Dr. Irfan A. Rizvi, President of FWA, followed by an enlightening keynote by Prof. G.C. Tripathi, former Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University. A panel discussion on “Emerging Challenges & Opportunities for Technical Education in India,” moderated by Dr. Chaturvedi, brought together academic leaders such as Prof. Samit Ray (Chancellor, Adamas University) and Prof. T. Koti Reddy (Vice-Chancellor, IFHE Hyderabad). The discussion highlighted the need to foster job creators rather than job seekers through industry-academia collaboration and innovative curriculum design.
The session on “Best & Next Practices in Higher Education” featured prominent voices including Dr. G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of VIT, and Prof. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University.

In total, 41 educators were felicitated under three categories — Lifetime Achievement, Legendary Teachers, and Teachers Samman. Prominent among them were Prof. Suman Chakraborty (Director, IIT Kharagpur), Prof. T.N.
