National News (24 August 2026): India’s growing contribution to the field of Special Care Dentistry received international recognition at the International Association for Disability and Oral Health (iADH) Conference 2026, held in Dublin from August 19 to 22. Representing India at the international conference for the fourth time since 2018, Greater Noida-based paediatric dentist Dr. Sanchit Paul was conferred the prestigious iADH Fellowship, recognising his sustained contribution to Special Care Dentistry.

The fellowship is regarded as an important professional distinction in the field and honours individuals who have demonstrated significant and continued work in areas including research, education, clinical training and community engagement related to oral healthcare for people with disabilities and special healthcare needs.

With more than 13 years of clinical experience, Dr. Paul has been actively involved in providing specialised dental care to children and adults with special healthcare needs. His professional work has focused on improving access to inclusive oral healthcare and strengthening specialised dental services for patients who require additional care and support.

Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Paul is also an active Autism Board Member of the Federation of Special Care Dentistry. Through his professional and community-based initiatives, he has continued to contribute to greater awareness, specialised training and improved dental care practices in the area of Special Care Dentistry.

The Dublin conference also marked a significant moment for other Indian dental professionals. Dr. Priya Verma, Dr. Mallineni and Dr. Altaf were also honoured with fellowships during the programme at the prestigious Trinity College Dublin.

The recognition of the Indian dental professionals at the international forum highlights the expanding global role of Indian expertise in Special Care Dentistry. Their achievements also underscore the importance of developing more inclusive, accessible and specialised oral healthcare services for individuals with disabilities and special healthcare needs.

Dr. Paul’s fellowship is being seen as a notable achievement for Greater Noida as well as for India’s Special Care Dentistry community, further strengthening the country’s representation on the global platform for disability and oral health.
