DU-UG curriculum under NEP 2020 likely to be finalised within two months

March 4, New Delhi: Delhi University’s undergraduate curriculum under National Education Policy 2020 is probable to be finalised within two months.

As per TOI reports, on Thursday DU Vice-chancellor Yogesh Singh said, “The NEP committee & the other related panels met recently & it was decided that the course structure will be ready within the next two months.”

he added, It will start with the first-year courses. As for the other years, it will be taken up subsequently.

“Our framework for the UG curriculum is already there & approved, so it should not be a problem,” Singh said.

The University will implement NEP 2020 from the upcoming academic session, & it’ll innoculate a four-year undergraduate programme as well.

Moreover, it will be the first time when admissions to the various undergraduate programmes in the university will be based on the Central Universities- Common Entrance Test (CU-CET) instead of merit based admissions.

As per Singh, “regular meetings” are in place with government counterparts regarding the common entrance test.

The university’s statutory bodies had recently approved the UGC curriculum framework, based on which the syllabus for various courses needed to be framed.
