DU’s VC Internship Scheme to help students avail paid opportunities

New Delhi, 2 September 2022: Delhi University has recently launched the ‘Vice Chancellor Internship Scheme’ for the undergraduate and postgraduate students giving them the opportunity to avail paid internships in the university’s departments and centres.

The Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh stated, “The VCIS’s main goal is to provide training in both soft and hard skills by combining cognitive and experiential learning. described it as a way to combine holistic knowledge with cutting-edge means of income while understanding the specifics of academics and management.”

The program will provide two types of internships—summer and year-round—that are available to all full-time, enrolled undergraduate and graduate students at DU enrolled in any course, he added.

The VC further said that the internship program provides a special opportunity for students to develop new skills and foster a sense of responsibility for the university system. The internship would mix comprehensive knowledge with creative income streams with the fundamentals of academic learning and management.

Singh also highlighted that depending on the needs of the university’s departments and centers, internships will be offered. There are now a maximum of 200 interns in each category. While internships during the academic session would pay Rs 5,000 per week, summer internships will be available during summer break for eight weeks and students will be paid Rs 10,000 per month.

Additionally, as per the requirement, students must also provide a letter of recommendation and a No Objection Certificate from the college’s department head.
