East Corporation unearths transport scam of Rs 25cr, lens on 2 officials
A scam to the tune of Rs 25 crore has come to light at East Delhi Municipal Corporation. For the past 19 months, the corporation has been buying diesel for its trucks and loaders at the rate of Rs 63.10 per litre, which is Rs 10.04 more than the market price. Records show that about 50 litres of diesel was used by the trucks daily when many of them didn’t even go for the rounds.
