Ek villain, a must watch movie – Review by Sanjay Chaturvedi

Galgotias Ad

Ek villain, said to have done a business of more than 5 crores in a few days of its release. No doubt

the movie is not only having an interesting story, but the sequence of events is knitted in a way which

keeps the audience sticked to the story, having on their back of mind “ab kya hoga”. On the acting part

Shradhha Kapoor has done a justice with the role and looks charming apart from being in a role of next

door girl. The way she is portrayed helping people is really interesting as she never spoke big of her

helping the others. On the direction part, however, some missing element is left with her source of

earning being left to the imagination of the audience. The way she is seen making expenses for others,

do not justify for the daughter of a sculpture maker.

Siddhartha Malhotra has done a good job in the role of an ‘angry young man’. With Siddhartha

narrating his story of childhood the reason of his becoming a ‘bad boy’ is made clear to all. His kicks

and punches are truly in reflection of his strong built. However, the change in his attitude after meeting

with Shradhha is not as realistic as nobody changes so fast, practically. But this is not a new funda of

bollywood, so we should not criticize the film on this issue.

Ritesh Deshmukh has done a marvelous job. For the first time, probably, he is come out of his comic

image and that too so strongly. His love to wife and his children reflects the heart of criminals, I wish,

assuming the other criminals too love their families.

RKR has been favored by luck by getting a prominent role as the colleague of Ritesh. The way he

provokes Ritesh for becoming the ‘Mard’ in orthodox terms, is really an eye opener for those who can

equate themselves with that image. Remo Fernandece impress in the role of a don, without much of

hype to the character. He attracts audience in his new innings as an actor.

On the critical side, the audiences were left with their imagination about the deadly disease Shradhha

was having. The more funny side of the disease was when the doctor said that she could be treated at

Mumbai as if he was talking about going to Mars. There are other loose ends too on the direction end.

However, the movie is a good one, must watch. Above all in spite of having two bad men in the movie

the movie is kept exceptionally clean. These days a bikni dance is too common to watch. Hence, a film

without any exposing scenes, the film is exceptionally good.
