Election Comission calls for opinion poll ban

The Election Commission, armed with the view of political parties, has written to the Union law ministry to prohibit publication of opinion polls once elections are notified.

Barring the BJP, which is in favour of opinion polls, and the Trinamul Congress, which does not have a view, all other parties have opposed publication of opinion polls once the election process sets in.
