India (28/10/2022): Following a lengthy public and legal battle over the ownership of the microblogging and social networking site Twitter, Elon Musk has finally completed his acquisition of Twitter Inc.
After taking control of Twitter, Musk has made significant changes to the company’s leadership.
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal has been fired along with Vijaya Gadde, the head of legal, policy, and trust, and Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal.
According to reports, general counsel Sean Edgett was escorted out of the office after Musk took charge. The change in ownership is likely to alter how Twitter has been run over the past couple years.
Earlier, Musk had stated that he wishes to restore “free speech” which may translate to looser content moderation standards and lead to restoration of certain high-profile and controversial accounts that may have been kicked off Twitter.
