New Delhi (India), 10th May 2023: WABetaInfo, a website that keeps track of all the latest WhatsApp advancements, reveals that WhatsApp Web users who are part of the beta testing programme can now edit their messages after they have been sent.

The option is available from the menu options for any text message. As long as everyone in the chat is using the most recent version of WhatsApp, the altered messages will be updated on their respective devices.

To avoid compatibility issues with the edited messages, WhatsApp is most likely to roll out this feature once the previous versions of the app that do not support edited messages, expire.

The WABetaInfo report says, “When you select this option, you will be prompted to edit the message within a new window. In case the feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account, you have up to 15 minutes to edit your messages in your chats and groups, and it is possible to edit messages multiple times.”

The ability to edit messages is presently available only to WhatsApp Web beta users. But the feature will be available soon for WhatsApp beta for Android users. According to the newest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.10.10 update on the Google Play Store, this is the final stage before the feature’s official debut.
