England World Cup victory would inspire the nation: Eoin Morgan

The England cricket team have reached a world cup final for the first time in nearly three decades, taking on New Zealand after beating Australia in the semi-finals in spectacular fashion.
New Zealand is a side that has made into the finals twice in a row and has the best sporting lot of players. They take loss with grace and victory with humility. Earlier, England and the Newzland have met twice before in men’s ODIs at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. NZ winning both previous encounters. A 5-wicket victory in 2013 and a 51-run triumph in 2008.
Eoin Morgan believes of England players tdeliver an iconic sporting moment that inspires the nation by winning their first World Cup at the most famous cricket ground of all.
Morgan said: “I haven’t allowed myself to think about lifting the trophy. Sport and cricket in particular is very fickle. If you ever get ahead of yourself, it always seems to bite you in the backside.
“But for us to win it, around the country it would be awesome – great for the game. It would be quite iconic and certainly in young kids’ memories if they are watching it at home and we manage to lift the trophy. It would be awesome.”
On the other hand, Kane Williamson said,
“I try not to get too caught up in the results, hopefully not too emotional about just the outcome and maybe look at it with a bit more reason. Where we perhaps could have improved and where some things that were out of our control had an impact on the game and then try and move on from that as quickly as possible.”
“So there’s always more to the picture than just the endpoint and that is sort of the focus for us as a team, it’s actually putting our efforts into the moment, how we want to operate as a group and it may well be very different to other sides and how they operate which is fine, but we trust in it and it is important that we do and we look forward to tomorrow treating it with a huge amount of respect because it’s not very often you get the opportunity to be out in a World Cup Final. But very much focussed on what we need to try and achieve.
